This is the Pooram ( temple elephant festival) of all Poorams in Kerala. A 36hr temple festival
that showcases rich cultural tradition of Kerala through various unique rituals such as ” Kudamaattam ( Parasol competition) , Panchavadhyam ( the temple Orchestra of 5 instruments), Vedikettu (colorful firework display) and lot more. It’s also a rare occasion where one can see at close counters some of the best-known pachyderms in Kerala here. Indeed, strict regulatory mandates are in place to prevent torture and excessive use of these great creatures, and certainly its a feast for your eyes the 36 hrs of action in Thrissur , the cultural capital of God’s Own Country.
